Police have revealed that 30 bodies have so far been retrieved from Kitezi, following a landslide at the Landfill. According to KMP police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the team today retrieved six (06) dead bodies by 1730 hours making a total of 30 bodies so far recovered. Government is moving to decommission the Kiteezi landfill following its collapse and eventual death of over 23 persons. The Minister of State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Parliament has rejected the Alcohol Control Bill, 2023 that sought to regulate the purchase, sell and consumption of alcohol. The Anti-corruption court has charged Mr. Matovu John, an advocate with Ms Matovu &Matovu Advocates with theft by an agent and conspiracy to defraud govt of over UGX 4Billion. The High Court has upheld the Shs1.7Bn Service Award given to the four Commissioners of Parliament, on grounds that the money was lawfully approved by Parliament.
