Several youthful anti-corruption protesters were on Tuesday arrested from various parts of Kampala during the anti-corruption march to Parliament. While the police had warned against the march, mainly calling for the resignation of the Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among, some brave youth came out to face the military and the police. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces, met with representatives from the Turkish defence company, Karel, at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) headquarters in Mbuya. During the meeting, the Karel officials showcased their latest defence industry products. Matthew Bukenya, Former executive secretary of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has died. Bukenya, 90, died Monday morning from Rubaga Hospital where he has been receiving treatment. Through X, UNEB, said it was “deeply saddened about the passing of Mr Bukenya.His guidance and mentorship meant the world to most of us in UNEB.” Adding, “We will always cherish the lessons he imparted and the support he provided. The King of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, has returned from Namibia where he has been receiving treatment. The Ministry of Trade PS, Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa, has been arraigned and charged in the Anti-Corruption Court. Ssali has been charged with abuse of office and causing financial loss to the government, among others. Robert Kyagulanyi has accused the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs of double standards. This follows a request by the National Unity Platform to use the Kololo Ceremonial grounds to commemorate their five years of existence. The government of Uganda has received a second batch of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccine from Egypt to control FMD outbreak in the country. Police is investigating a robbery incident that occurred on July 15 in Kampala. The robbery captured on CCTV, involved Boda boda riders, who cornered an Indian National at approximately 12 pm at Eso Corner in Kampala city. The victim, who has been identified as Mr. Joshi Keshav, a 32-year-old Indian national and tour and travel company operator based at Crown House, Kampala Road, reported the incident to the Nkurumah Road Police Station.
