I am Married to Both, We Attend Events Together – MP Moses Okia Speaks Out on His Fighting Co-Wives

Soroti East Division MP, Mr. Moses Attan Okia has spoken out for the first time about an incident on Monday during his swearing in when his two wives wrangled at platform over who takes the shine.

The rivarly, which was vividly caught off camera, started as soon as Mr. Okia was called up to the lectern to take oaths of office and allegiance. One of the wives dressed in a gomesi sprung to her feet first and marched hurriedly forward, leaving her husband and co-wife to follow suit.

The drama however, erupted the moment Mr. Okia lifted the Bible aloft to start administering the oath. His wife raced from behind and pushed herself next to the MP elbowing away, her co-wife.

The drama prompted the law maker to halt his oath and admonish them to behave. Mr. Okia has since told the press that he is married to both women (officially) and always attends functions jointly with them.

“On that day, they all wanted to stand in front and next to me, hence the pushing. Upon realizing what was happening, I told them to stop it.” Okia said.

“But also, we didn’t know in which exact position, the Clerk to Parliament (who was administering the oaths) was supposed to stand. So, that also brought a mix-up.” He added.
