Kawempe North Member of Parliament (MP) flag bearer for the National Unity Platform (NUP) Mohammed Ssegirinya has been arrested and is currently detained at Nalufenya.

The current LCV Lord Councillor for Kawempe is a close confidant of Presidential Aspirant Bobi Wine and has been with traversing the country to campaign.

While talking to journalists before his arrest, Mr. Update (as he is fondly known) vowed not to leave the detention center until his candidate is freed by the Police.

Bobi Wine was arrested yesterday in Luuka District for allegedly flouting COVID-19 guidelines and “putting the population at risk of contraction of a deadly disease.”

The Kyadondo East MP is currently detained at the same notorious detention center.

Kampala and other select towns across the country like Masaka, Luuka, Jinja, Mayuge, Mukono, and Wakiso among others were up in protests the entire day yesterday demanding the release of Bobi Wine.

[This is a developing story.]
