NUP, FDC Should Have Borrowed a Leaf From Museveni’s Nomination – Minister Peter Ogwang

Peter Ogwang, the Minister of State for Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance has blasted National Unity Platform (NUP) and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential flag bearers Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine and Patrick Amuriat Oboi for flouting Electoral Commission (EC) and COVID-19 guidelines as they were being nominated for President earlier today.

Kyagulanyi and Oboi were both arrested today with the former brutally arrested shortly after his nomination as he made his way out of the nomination grounds at Kyambogo University Grounds.

“These opposition candidates are interested in cameras and causing chaos in complete disregard of the guidelines set by the Independent Electoral Commission.” Minister Ogwang said.

He accused the opposition candidates for disregarding the COVID-19 guidelines and seeking to organise mass rallies of their supporters, something he says even Museveni could have done but chose not to do.

“Bobi Wine wanted to go to Kamwokya at the NUP head quarters and address hundreds of his supporters. He should have borrowed a leaf from us in the NRM who yesterday organised our manifesto launch with SOPs in place.” Ogwang said.
