The chairperson LCV Ntungamo district Mr. Dennis Singahache has lashed out at political antagonists who tried to block the appointment of Ms Hildah Rwamashongye as chairperson District Service Commission calling them witches of development.

The Ntungamo District Service Commission is now fully instituted after nearly one year failing to get a competent person to fill the position of Chairperson after the retirement of Janet Maisotigalya Bagarukayo in 2019.

This follows the long waited swearing in of Ms Rwamanshongye Turyahikayo as Ntungamo District Service Commission chairperson with Ms Nayebare Constance Gumisiriza as a member.

The commission was sworn in by Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Ntungamo Hanny Turyaheebwa on Friday before the district chairperson Denis Singahache and Resident District Commissioner (RDC) George Bakunda among others.

Rwamashongye was earlier on a member of the commission and approved by the public service commission before the Ntungamo District council nominated again to be the chairperson of the commission after the council rejected Lazarus Owakubariho whose second term at the commission is ending soon.

According to the letter dated 16th October, 2020 signed by Hilda Musubira the deputy chairperson, Public service commission approved Hildah Rwamashongye as chairperson and Nayebare Constance.

While presiding over the oaths the CAO Mr. Turyaheebwa noted that the delayed process has severely crippled the district’s ability to function effectively since most of the critical positions had remained vacant.

The RDC Ntungamo George Bakunda commended women for being trustworthy in managing government departments, tasking them to uphold the ethical valves if they are to serve people diligently.

Mr. Singahache appealed to the new sworn in commissioners to respect the operating systems and cooperate in order to end impunity amongst civil servants.

The newly sworn in District Service commission chairperson Ms. Rwamashongye pledged to exhibit a high level of transparency and trustworthiness as the only way to promote zero tolerance to corruption.

Nayebare Constance a wife to Gumisiriza Justus Kishaari the director of Ntungamo Girls High School Rwentobo representing urban authorities underscored the need for impartiality and transparent before, during and after the interviews if corruption is to be history in Ntungamo district.

She promised the general public that everyone will get a job by the virtual ones’ academic papers regardless of who is who. Ntungamo district service commission has only four members out of five.
