JUST IN: Deputy Gov’t Spokesperson Col. Shaban Bantariza Passes On

News just in confirms that the Deputy Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre who also served as Deputy Spokesperson for the government Col. Shaban Bantariza has died.

The cause of his death was still unknown by the time of writing this story and government was yet to release an official statement of his passing.

Hailing from Mitooma District in western Uganda, Col. Bantariza was 57 at the time of his death. He joined the army in 1985 after abandoning his course at Makerere University to partake in the National Resistance Army (NRA) bush struggle.

Before his job at the Uganda Media Centre, Col. Bantariza served as Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson and Director of the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi.

He was officially retired from the army on September 28th, 2015. May his soul Rest In Peace.
