Pictures of Tanzanian football fans in the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium enjoying a football game without any regard to COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have broken the internet.

The Ugandan Wire understands that the game, that was played yesterday the 22nd of August 2020 was between Simba FC and Vitalo FC and ended 6-0 in favour of the former.

Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli, shocked the world when he protested the virus in April saying there is no coronavirus in Tanzania and suspended all COVID-19 tests.

He encouraged the people to go to Churches and pray because according to him, COVID-19 was a demon that only God could counter and defeat. He also imported millions of litres of Madagascar made herbs that he claimed were a cure for the coronavirus.

With countries like Uganda debating a second lockdown over a surge in the positive cases of the virus, Tanzanians are living the best of their lives with no social distancing, no wearing of masks or sanitizing whatsoever.

At the same match, Tanzanian born African music giant Diamond Platinumz performed for the wild crowd.
