UTAMU’s First Council Chair, Prof Ssewanyana Laid to Rest

Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) community is saddened by the loss of Associate Professor Joseph Kasumba Ssewanyana who passed away yesterday (25th March 2020) from Nakasero hospital in Kampala.

Prof. Kasumba served as first UTAMU council chairperson between 2013-2015.

He has been a business technology specialist who worked extensively in the academia and industry.

Prof. Kasumba has also been a senior lecturer at Nakawa based Makerere University Business School (MUBS) for the last 20 years. 

He also served as a consultant with IFE and a member of several boards such as CEO of Summit Think Tank secretariat and on the council of Management Training and Advisory Center (MTAC).

He graduated with a Masters degree of Business Administration from Hull University, UK and PhD in business administration from Washington International University, USA his research interests were in business modeling and ICT for development.

He was buried yesterday at his ancestral home in Mubende. May the Almighty God strengthen his family in this trying moment and his soul rest in eternal peace.
