Busitema University Student Dies on the Way to Meet His Sponsors

Oketcho Peter who was a second year student pursuing a bachelors of Water Resources Engineering at Busitema University passed away after being involved in a fatal motor accident in Bugiri town.

The news about Peter’s passing away was revealed by Etyang Paul who is the current Resident Campus Commissioner at Busitema in a public notice.

“It has come to our notice that one of the people who were involved in a road accident in Bugiri town on Saturday morning is one of our own Oketcho Peter, second year student from the Faculty of Engineering. We really regret to have this sad moment, may the soul of our comrade Peter rest in peace’’ Etyang said in a public notice.

Basing on the documents Peter had by the time of his death, he had been granted permission from the University to go and see his sponsors in an NGO called Muhairwe Education Trust that is based in Kampala. According to witnesses, the accident happened near Bugiri town at 4am of Saturday morning.

Peter will be laid to rest today (10th February 2020) in Abur village Rubongi sub county Tororo district. May Peter’s soul rest in Eternal peace.
