Hosts, University of Kisubi, Begin Inter-University Games Campaign on a High

The 2019 hosts of the inter-university games, University of Kisubi (UNIK) have began their campaign in the games this year on a high after emerging football winners in the tournament’s opening fixture versus Gulu University.

UNIK are debutants in the games that managed to win the opportunity to host the games this year. Considered underdogs, the won their fixture with Gulu University with 10 men after their player David Kanyola was sent off for foul behaviour.

While thanking the games’ organisers for choosing UNIK as the hosts, Prof John Ssebuufu, the vice chancellor couldn’t hide his excitement over the prospect of hosting the games and what it means for the higher institution of learning.

‘’University of Kisubi is humbled to host the inter-university games this year, as a young university, it is a dream come true for the growth of the university.’’ Prof Ssebuufu said at the opening ceremony.

The games are played using facilities of St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK), the Entebbe Cricket Oval, St Savio Primary, Kisubi and UNIK. Games participated in are wood ball, football, table tennis, badminton, long tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming rugby, scrabble, athletics and chess
